Campbell Union High School District Welcomes New Superintendent

The Campbell Union High School District (CUHSD) Board of Trustees announced at the May 5 school board meeting the hiring of Dr. Robert Bravo as the district's new superintendent. Dr. Bravo will assume his new duties on June 20, 2016.

As the finalist among a field of thirty applicants from across the country, Dr. Bravo’s experience improving student achievement and fostering an educational culture that focuses on the teaching and learning process made him the top choice of the school board.

“Having grown up in San Jose, I am thrilled to be returning to Silicon Valley to serve the Campbell Union High School District," said Dr. Bravo. “I am eager to begin working with staff and the community in the service of the students and their families.”

Dr. Bravo previously served as director of construction services for the Dallas Independent School District and as an area superintendent in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Prior to holding those positions, he had high school level experience as a teacher, assistant principal, school principal, and assistant superintendent. Dr. Bravo holds a doctorate as well as a master’s in education and a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of California, Los Angeles.

“On behalf of the entire Board and the Campbell Union High School District community, please join me in welcoming Dr. Bravo back home to Santa Clara County," said CUHSD Board President Linda Goytia. "We are looking forward to a long and fruitful association as we continue to build programs and facilities to give our students the full range of opportunities they deserve.”

Dr. Bravo's appointment was the culmination of a process that included gathering input from faculty, staff, community, and students to develop a leadership profile for the ideal CUHSD superintendent.
