The CACE Family Literacy program is designed for ESL students with school-age children in Pre-K through 12th grade. It provides age-appropriate instruction to help parents with early literacy, phonics, and reading skills. The program also provides ESL instruction in reading comprehension, numeracy, and computer literacy to support adults with children.
Parents learn strategies to support their children in understanding homework instruction. In addition, parents develop skills to handle school-related activities, such as reporting absences, participating in parent-teacher conferences, or advocating for their children. Students learn to manage their schedules and establish goals for themselves and their family. Class activities are hands-on and conducted using actual school-related situations.
